Where to find your equipment's model and serial number.
When you request service, the first thing our coordinator will ask for is the model and serial number of the machine. Having it ready saves a phone call and helps us identify the right parts for your exact model. Here is where to look on every type of equipment.
Request service
One short form. We reply the same business day, Monday through Friday.
"*" indicates required fields
Look for a silver or white label with a barcode
Most manufacturers put a rectangular label with the model number, serial number, and a barcode somewhere low on the frame. A phone photo of the label is perfect; text it to us or attach it to your request.
- Model number tells us exactly which machine you have and which parts fit it. It is usually on the same label as the serial, and often printed on the console too.
- Serial number tells us the production date, warranty status, and any known revisions for that unit.
- Take a photo. A clear phone photo of the label is faster than reading it aloud, and you can send it by text to 888-383-6371.
- Can't find it? Tell us the brand and what the console says on startup. We can usually identify the machine from that and find the label on the visit.
Label locations by machine
Treadmills
On most commercial treadmills the frame serial label is on the front of the machine near the motor hood, on the side rail near the front roller, or on the frame just behind the motor cover. Residential treadmills usually put it on the frame near the power switch or on the underside of the belt frame. The console has its own label; we need the frame serial, and the console model if the display is the problem.
- Precor: front frame, driver side, near the hood
- Life Fitness: right side rail near the front roller
- Matrix: label plate on the front frame under the hood lip
- NordicTrack and ProForm: on the frame near the power switch or under the belt frame
Ellipticals
Elliptical serial plates are almost always on the frame near the base: the front stabilizer bar, the rear stabilizer, or the main upright post just above the floor. On adaptive motion trainers and self-powered units, check the front shroud near the floor.
- Precor EFX and AMT: front base, driver side
- Life Fitness: rear stabilizer or lower upright
- Octane: front stabilizer tube
- Matrix: front base near the power cord
Exercise bikes
Upright and recumbent bikes carry the serial plate on the frame near the flywheel housing, on the rear stabilizer, or under the seat post. Spin and studio bikes usually stamp it on the frame near the bottom bracket or on a sticker at the base of the seat post.
- Life Fitness and Precor: rear stabilizer or under the seat
- Keiser and Schwinn studio bikes: frame near the bottom bracket
- Peloton: rear of the frame near the base
- Recumbents: on the frame behind the seat rail
Stepmills and stair climbers
StairMaster and other stepmills put the serial plate on the lower side panel near the floor, on the frame at the base of the handrail upright, or on the rear of the machine near the power inlet.
- StairMaster Gauntlet and 8/10 series: lower side panel, left side
- Matrix ClimbMill: rear lower frame
- Life Fitness PowerMill: lower front frame near the step entry
Strength and cable machines
Selectorized and cable machines have a serial plate on the main frame, typically on the weight-stack shroud, the rear of the frame near the floor, or a stamped plate on the primary upright. Plate-loaded equipment usually stamps it on the main frame tube near the base.
- Life Fitness and Hammer Strength: weight-stack shroud or main frame tube
- Precor: lower main frame
- Functional trainers: base of one of the towers
Rowers
Concept2 rowers have the serial on the underside of the rail near the front leg and on the monitor arm; the PM monitor has its own serial in its menu. Water and magnetic rowers put the label on the frame near the tank or flywheel housing.
- Concept2: sticker on the front leg or under the rail, plus the PM5 menu
- WaterRower: frame near the tank
- Magnetic rowers: base near the flywheel housing
What else to have ready
- The symptom in one sentence, and when it happens (on startup, under load, at speed).
- Any error code on the display. A photo of the screen is ideal.
- The brand and approximate age if you are not sure of the model.
- For facilities: the machine's location on the floor and who to ask for on arrival.
None of this is required to request service. It just makes the first conversation faster and helps us identify the right parts sooner.
